Danielle Carter, 9C Form Tutor and School Teacher, is busy training for the London Marathon next year in order to raise funds for Moor House School & College.

Danielle says 'I have been teaching at MHS&C since September 2017. Having moved from another school I can honestly say that this is such a fabulous place to work. The staff are fantastic and the students are just a delight to teach and get to know. Each and every one of them bring something different to my day. It is for that reason that I have decided to run the London Marathon this coming April to raise money for MHS&C.  I also love a challenge and am now able to take on this event with a drive to helping both promote awareness of Developmental Language Disorder and support the work we do here. On average 7% of the population have DLD, our students are very lucky in the support that they receive but some do not get the help they should or have not yet been identified as needing the support due to lack of awareness. For me it is not only about raising money but bringing as many people together for such a great cause. I have therefore been working with my tutor group, 9C, in creating mini businesses and pitches to present to SMT to ask for a potential loan to start a business in school. All the profits will go towards my final Marathon total. I hope to work with parents and students in order to raise further funds after Christmas and raise a minimum of £1,500 by the end of this academic school year.'

The money raised will continue to go to the development of our therapy hub which is essential to the learning and development of the children.
